TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police have spoken up about the statement made by Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno that he got a green light from Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo to resume music concerts up to sports week.

The National Police Head of Public Relations Unit Insp. Gen. Argo Yuwono said there has been no regulation on such permits issued by his institution. “Not yet. If there is one, we will announce it,” said Argo via a text message on Friday, March 12.

Previous reports suggested that during a meeting with the Tourism and Creative Economy Minister on March 9, Listyo Sigit gave a green light for the implementation of community activities.

Several activities that will be allowed to resume under strict health protocols amid the Covid-19 pandemic include sports, music, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, Exhibitions), and cultural events.

“We’d like to thank the Police Chief and his staff as the results from the video conference call yesterday received positive responses from event industry players,” Sandiaga said on March 10.

Sandiaga Uno said that even though the National Police Chief approved public activities such as music or cultural concerts, the implementation must comply with the health protocols and CHSE protocols (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability).
