6,422 RTs in Jakarta Classified as COVID-19 Red Zones

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta provincial government categorized 6,422 neighboring units or RTs as COVID-19 red zones or at high risk of coronavirus transmission.
The most vulnerable zones were detected in East Jakarta at 1,963 RTs, followed by West Jakarta with 1,502 RTs, South Jakarta with 1,310 RTs, North Jakarta with 935 RTs, and Central Jakarta 712 RTs.
In the Thousand Island regency, meanwhile, no red zones were detected. The data were updated on February 11, 2021, which were accessible via the city’s official page corona.jakarta.go.id.
Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan first announced the zone classification on the Community Unit or RW level on June 4, 2020. At that time, 66 RWs were categorized as COVID-19 red zones.
The red zone was included in the strict control area (WPK), which was now also applied to the RT level.
The number of COVID-19 positive cases in Jakarta keeps climbing. The daily rise was recorded at around 2,000-3,000. The government is striving to suppress the spread of the coronavirus through the enforcement of the micro-scale community activity restriction or Micro PPKM.
Tempo was trying to ask for confirmation regarding the RTs that became COVID-19 red zones in the capital city published on the mentioned website to the Health Agency, but there is no response yet.
