Jakarta Covid-19 Red Zone Increases

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Provincial Government recorded there are 54 community units (RW) set as Covid-19 red zone as per January 21. The red zone status shows that an area is at high risk of coronavirus transmission.
South Jakarta recorded the most Covid-19 red zones, with 29 RW, as stated on corona.jakarta.go.id. In West Jakarta, there are 9 red zones, 7 in Central Jakarta, 6 in East Jakarta, 2 in the Thousand Islands, and 1 in North Jakarta.
Patients under hospital treatment or self-isolating are spread in 2,452 areas in the city.
Previously, data on January 14, showed that there were 43 Covid-19 red zones in the capital and the number would always fluctuate.
Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan first announced the red zones on June 4, 2020, with 66 areas recorded.
The red zones are included in areas under tight surveillance (WPK). The number of Covid-19 cases in Jakarta and in the national-level keeps increasing. Today, the capital city’s additional case hikes at around 2,000 to 3,000.
