TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government is still unable to control the transmission of Covid-19. On Tuesday, February 16, authorities reported 10,029 new infections over the last 24 hours.
The number of patients who died increased by 229 as of today, bringing the nation's Coronavirus death toll to 33,596. Meanwhile, the number of recoveries over the past day increased by 7,609 people to total at 1,039,674.
The country's total caseload has now exceeded 1.2 million since the virus was first detected in early March last year.
The government is currently monitoring 86,960 suspects, or people that may have contracted the virus. There are also 28,167 specimen samples being tested.
