TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned railway operator PT KAI Commuter recorded an increasing number of passengers of Greater Jakarta or Jabodetabek Commuter Line or KRL on Monday, February 1.

As of 9 a.m. today, 137,775 people boarded the train, up by 4 percent compared to last Monday’s number of 131,569.

VP Corporate Secretary Anne Purba said the company operated 964 train trips per day starting 4 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., in line with the enforcement of the community activity restriction of PPKM.

“KAI Commuter hopes users can arrange their trips more flexibly and have awareness not to get on a train that is filled with passengers as shown by existing signs,” said Anne in a written statement.

Information about schedules, train positions, and the density of stations could be seen through the KRL Access application, she added.

All predetermined health protocols and additional rules for boarding KRL remain in effect, including elderly people aged 60 years and over who can only take a train outside the peak hours or from 10:00 a.m. to 02:00 p.m every day.
