TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan will impose a more stringent Covid-19 restriction or known as large-scale social restrictions (PSBB), as set by the central government. The restriction will commence from January 11 to 25, 2021.

“And it can be extended,” he said in an online broadcast on Saturday, January 9.

The decision was made to suppress Covid-19 active cases in Jakarta that has reached 17,383.

According to the governor, the number is the highest since the pandemic hit for the past nine months. Therefore, the city will strictly limit the office activities, operating hours of restaurants and department stores, until the operating hours of public transportation.

The offices should only accommodate 25 percent of normal capacity. “The 75 percent should work at home,” Anies said.

Essential businesses run in the health, food, energy, financial, and banking sectors are allowed to fully operate, while school activities must be done remotely.

Meanwhile, all public, social, and cultural facilities will be temporarily closed, but the houses of worship will remain open with 50 percent capacity.

Restaurants, diners, and similar businesses are allowed to operate until 19:00. Dine-in is permitted with a maximum capacity of 25 percent from the normal capacity. "As for food delivery or pickup services, they’re allowed to operate for 24 hours based on their operating hours,” the governor said.

The operating hour of department stores is also limited to until 19:00, while the public transport will operate until 20:00 with 50 percent capacity.

“Check the detail at the issuance of Governor Regulations and Governor Decree, as well as the infographic on social media,” Anies Baswedan remarked.
