TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) is set to announce the chronology of the fatal clash between the Islam Defenders Front (FPI) and the police at KM 50 of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, in which six FPI members were killed.

Commission chairman Ahmad Taufan Damanik explained that his side used the examination results of the surveillance cameras or CCTV footage of toll operator Jasa Marga as the basis of the chronology, as well as the results of the forensic ballistic tests.

“Yes, inshallah, [we will announce it] this week. Early next week at the latest,” said Taufan via a short message received by Antara in Jakarta, Monday, January 4.

Taufan said that the Komnas HAM Monitoring and Investigation Team had also learned the details of the incident by checking the surveillance cameras. Besides, the team has today conducted a reconstruction test.

On Dec. 28, 2020, Komnas HAM member Beka Ulung Hapsara stated that Jasa Marga's CCTV footage was "rough" and required more in-depth analyses.

However, Taufan clarified that the results of the CCTV footage had been obtained. From the footage, his side gained the chronological details of the clash between the FPI and the police officers. All data and facts that have been collected were consolidated by the team for finalization.
