Rizieq Shihab Pretrial Hearing Today Guarded by 1,610 Joint Personnel

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The pretrial hearing of Rizieq Shihab scheduled to be held today on January 4, 2021, in the South Jakarta District Court will be guarded by 1,610 joint personnel from the police institution and military units.

“1,610 joint personnel from the TNI, police, and local administration will be mobilized to secure the pre-trial at the South Jakarta district court tomorrow,” said Police spokesperson Ir. Gen. Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono on Sunday, January 3.

According to him, the joint personnel will be mobilized across the vicinity of the court trial which includes directing traffic in the area.

Rizieq Shihab, who is known as the leader of the deemed-illegal mass-organization FPI (Islam Defenders Front) was named a suspect over violating the Covid-19 health protocol in Petamburan, Central Jakarta. The state prosecutors have also registered pretrial hearings for four other suspects involved in the case.
