Over 174,000 Vehicles Leaving Jakarta for Christmas, New Year's Holiday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State toll road operator Jasa Marga recorded 174,678 vehicles left Jakarta on December 23. People seem to be leaving Jakarta for the Christmas and New Year 2021 holidays.
"The total volume of traffic leaving Jakarta has increased by 34.5 percent compared to normal days," Jasa Marga spokesperson Irra Susiyanti said in a written statement, Friday, December 25.
Thousands of vehicles are leaving the capital through several main toll gates including Cikupa (West), Ciawi (South), as well as Cikampek Utama and Kalihurip Utama (East).
Irra said that most of the vehicles left Jakarta towards the east, totaling 89,866 vehicles so far. Meanwhile, 48,596 vehicles have left towards the West and 36,216 headed South.
Jasa Marga appealed to toll road users to prepare for their travels well before entering toll roads and to comply with health protocols.
