TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said the city government keeps working with various parties to ensure sufficient isolation centers for Covid-19 patients in the capital.

According to him, Jakarta has prepared quarantine sites in Ragunan of South Jakarta, Koja of North Jakarta, and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) cultural park areas. “If possible, we have already prepared sports halls across Jakarta as directed by the governor,” said Riza in the Military Command HQ on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020.

The three isolation venues are Jakarta Islamic Study and Development Center at the Jakarta Islamic Center (JIC), Graha Wisata at TMII complex, and Graha Wisata Ragunan at Ragunan sports complex. However, the one in JIC could not be opened yet.

“We have other venues. We have prepared them. So Jakarta will not see shortage [in isolation venues],” Riza claimed.

Previously, the government spokesman for the pandemic mitigation, Wiku Adisasmito, reported a surge in patients occupying the isolation center at Wisma Atlet Kemayoran Jakarta. The government, he added, was seeking new alternative venues.

“The task force [for Covid-19 mitigation] is looking for alternative isolation rooms so that everyone will receive good treatment,” said Wiku on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020.
