TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairperson of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI Jakarta) Slamet Budiarto on Tuesday said the capital city's Covid-19 isolation bed occupancy rate is currently at 80-90 percent.
"It has reached 80-90 percent which signals a [yellow warning light]," said the IDI Jakarta chair on late Tuesday evening.
Slamet believes this is driven by the lack of people's discipline to follow the current health protocols the government had imposed to curb the spread of Covid-19 infections.
"It's really out of control now and difficult [to urge people to follow the protocols]," said the member of Jakarta's Covid-19 task force.
Slamet suggests for a better government rule enforcement on Covid-19 restrictions if the people in general refuse to delegate with the large-scale social restriction (PSBB). However, he believes the infection rate will eventually be suppressed after the vaccine is introduced to the public.
