TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government has introduced a new regulation where domestic travelers departing to Bali are required to undergo a PCR swab test ahead of the Christmas and New Year’s holiday season.

The new health protocol introduced by the Bali administration will be made effective from December 18 to January 4, 2021, which is mentioned in a government circular overseeing domestic flight travels.

Soekarno–Hatta Airport PR manager Haerul Anwar says there are several options regarding PCR swab test services in the airport’s Terminal 3, apart from the regular rapid tests. He explains that a single rapid test will cost travelers Rp85,000 with the result out within 20 minutes that is operational for 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the PCR swab test is available from 08:00-21:00 with the regular version costing Rp885,000 (results estimated to be out within 24 hours), and the PCR ID NOW will cost Rp1,385,000 which is more expensive as the result will be out in 20 minutes.

The rapid and PCR swab tests are all conducted at the airport’s healthcare facility ‘SMMILE Center’ located in Soekarno-Hatta’s Terminal 3 block L & M at the domestic arrivals. People only need to show their personal identity to health officials at the location to undergo tests.
