TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - AirNav Indonesia operated 1,258 flights in a single day during the peak of this year's Eid homecoming season, which was on Saturday, April 6. Officials say this figure reflects an 8 percent increase from last year's Eid homecoming peak.
"Saturday, April 6, was the day we predicted would be the peak of homecoming traffic at Soekarno Hatta Airport. "The airport recorded 1,258 domestic and international flights," M. T. Nurhuda, general manager of AirNav Indonesia's Soekarno-Hatta Jakarta Air Traffic Service Center (JATSC) branch, said in a written statement on Monday, April 8.
Nurhuda said the 1,258 flights included regular, special, military, cargo, charter, positioning and repatriation flights. He added that most destinations were from Jakarta to Makassar, Surabaya, Denpasar, Kualanamu and also Semarang.
Nurhuda said that AirNav Indonesia, especially the JATSC branch, guarantees the safety, order and security of air transportation during the Eid homecoming period in 2024.
"We have prepared a number of air navigation service supports, including readiness for flight SLOT flexibility; readiness for emergency procedures and disaster emergency response; readiness of air traffic command post for the Eid Al-Fitr period 2024; daily monitoring of human resources through applications and health checks; readiness of flight data & information; as well as daily checks on the readiness of air navigation equipment," he said.
