TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned gas and oil firm Pertamina’s electric vehicle charging station located in Fatmawati starts operating today, Dec. 10, announced the Corporate Communication Vice President, Fajriyah Usman.

“This is Pertamina’s innovation to support the use of clean and renewable energy in Indonesia, and also Pertamina’s offer on its 63rd anniversary,” said Fajriyah in a written statement on Thursday, Dec. 10.

She further explained that the first charging station in Fatmawati has a 50 kW fast charging facility and is also equipped with several types of guns or vehicle chargers that comply with European and Japanese standards, such as CCS2 gun (Europe standard), Chademo (Japanese standard) and 65 kW AC in the form of 43 kW plug AC Type 2 and 22 kW type 2 AC inlet.

The station can also be used to charge two vehicles at one time so that customers do not have to wait too long to charge.

Fajriyah went on to say that electric vehicles are predicted to become a future trend. Therefore, Pertamina is preparing itself from now on to anticipate the energy use transition.

“With the support of stakeholders, Pertamina is ready to develop the electric car charging business in the future to support an advanced, environmentally friendly, and pollution-free Indonesia,” she said.
