TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan admitted that he was not comfortable wearing a face mask, yet claiming that getting Covid-19 was much more unpleasant.
“Wearing a mask is not comfortable. It is not comfortable at all, but I need to say that being exposed to Covid-19 is much more uneasy,” said Anies via teleconference on the launching event of Kampung Tangguh Jaya here on Tuesday, Dec. 8.
Anies demanded all people in Jakarta areas to be more serious in cutting off the chain of coronavirus transmission.
He underlined that he has experienced the impact of virus exposure and has to undergo medical treatment and self-isolation at his official house in Menteng, Central Jakarta.
Therefore, he hoped Jakarta Metro Police and Regional Military Command would join hands in monitoring the public discipline in breaking the chain of the virus spread.
“We hope that people can really implement 3M (health protocols) of wearing a face mask, maintaining distance, and washing hands. Everyone knows that the challenge is to be disciplined in applying them,” said Anies.
