TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police Chief Insp. Gen. Mohammad Fadil Imran underwent a swab test after Governor Anies Baswedan and Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria tested positive for COVID-19. According to Fadil, he had close contact with the capital's leaders during the past week.
“Alhamdulillah, the result came out on Dec. 2 and it was negative,” said the police chief in a video recording on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020.
The newly-inaugurated Metro Police Chief met with Anies at the City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, just days after he was appointed as the police chief replacing Insp. Gen. Nana Sudjana.
In the meeting at the City Hall, Fadil and Anies discussed future challenges that could possibly be faced by the Capital City.
“We talked about tasks to be done in the future to work together and collaborate so that we can create a safe and peaceful situation,” said Fadil at that time.
On Tuesday, Dec. 1, Anies Baswedan announced he was tested positive for COVID-19 through a video recording. He was undergoing independent isolation in the official residence while working remotely. Meanwhile, Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria confirmed to be positive earlier on November 29.
