TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that 17 people were arrested, including the Maritime and Fisheries Affairs Minister Edhy Prabowo during a bust on the early hours of Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Edhy's wife, ministry officials and other individuals were also arrested during the sting operation.

"The total number of people secured by KPK officers is 17, including the minister of maritime affairs and fisheries, his wife, and several officials of the ministry," KPK acting spokesman Ali Fikri said on Wednesday.

Ali said they were arrested at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport area, Jakarta and Depok. The KPK also confiscated an ATM card as evidence.

Edhy Prabowo's arrest is related to the determination of potential lobster seed exporters. Edhy's predecessor, Susi Pudjiastuti, had banned the commodity export. But Edhy re-allowed the activity after taking office.

Ali said the 17 people who were arrested are still under investigation. The KPK has 24 hours to name the suspects in this case.
