Thousands of his followers packed the airport’s Terminal 3 which was guarded by FPI’s own security personnel and Armed Forces (TNI) soldiers who were there to help control the situation.
Based on Tempo’s observation, the FPI security dubbed ‘laskar FPI’ created a barricade that opened the path for Rizieq Shihab to walk to his transport.
As Rizieq Shihab walked to the car, many of his followers used the opportunity to shake his hands, take pictures, and videos. The FPI leader was seen wearing a face mask throughout this process until he left the airport.
