TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The House of Representatives (DPR) legislation body (Baleg) chairperson, Supratman Andi Atgas, on Wednesday admitted the typing mistakes contained in the final draft of the Job Creation Law No.11/2020.

However, he strongly denied that this can be used to confirm the notion that the government and DPR had hastily formulated the Job Creation Law.

“No, we're definitely extremely careful. But yes, we have done everything in our power but it is what it is,” said the House’s Baleg leader on November 4.

Supratman said he does not wish to talk about the mistakes in the omnibus job creation law again but asserted that the Baleg acknowledges their mistakes. He then called for a solution that involves both the DPR and State Secretariat to correct the mistakes.

“I don’t want to flashback to the past, the point is that we admit there were typing mistakes and it must be revised since [the Job Creation Law] must be distributed to the public,” said Supratman who suggested such mistakes are quite common but this case is different due to the fact that the mistakes were found after President Jokowi ratified the law.
