TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The House of Representatives' (DPR) Legislation Body (Baleg) member from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Mulyanto, claimed that PKS discovered substantial changes in the three draft versions of Job Creation Law (Omnibus Law) and the working committee's discussion results on October 3, 2020.

"The findings turn out to be not only editorial but we think also substantial," Mulyanto told Tempo on Monday, October 26, 2020.

Mulyanto explained that the results of the working committee's discussion on October 3, 2020, included the discussion results of the drafting team and the synchronization team of the Omnibus Law. The three draft versions, meanwhile, are the 905-pages draft published on October 5, the 812-pages draft submitted to President Jokowi on October 12, and the 1,187-pages draft released by the State Secretariat.

"We think it is quite vital," said the PKS politician when asked about the significance of the substantial changes among the four drafts.

However, Mulyanto stopped short of revealing the findings, arguing that the PKS faction team was still investigating and reviewing the drafts.

The DPR Legislation Body was reportedly editing the draft of the omnibus law after the plenary meeting of the law enactment on October 5, 2020. The Baleg claimed they just arranged the editorial and typing format.

The House Deputy Speaker Azis Syamsuddin said the DPR neither changed the substance of the Job Creation Law draft after it was issued nor included articles specifically reserved to accommodate the interests of certain parties.
