TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) announced that Jakarta may still witness several floods as mild to medium intensity rain is still forecasted to fall over the city until Wednesday, September 23.

BNPB spokesman Raditya Jati in a press release on Tuesday, Sept. 22, said that rain will “possibly shower the city from 13:00 up to 19:00.”

The release listed areas such as South Jakarta’s Cilandak, Kebayoran Baru, Kebayoran Lama, Mampang Prapatan, Pancoran, Pasar Minggu, Pesanggrahan and Tebet, to be showered by rain.

Other areas include West Jakarta’s Cengkareng, Kalideres, Kebon Jeruk and Kembangan; East Jakarta’s Cipayung, Ciracas, Duren Sawit, Jatinegara, Kramat Jati, Makasar and Pasar Rebo; while Central Jakarta and North Jakarta will remain dry.

The BNPB warns residents living in close proximity of the Ciliwung River, Pesanggrahan River, and other rivers passing through Jakarta regions to prepare for impending floods.
