TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan stated the regional government is eyeing to enhance the capability of its platform in monitoring the spread of Covid-19 in the capital city. This program is in collaboration with the British Embassy and Indonesian volunteer group LaporCOVID-19.

Anies attended the launching event with the British Ambassador to Indonesia Owen Jenkins and LaporCOVID-19 co-initiator Irma Hidayana.

According to the governor, the project will produce and update data on the Pandemic Vulnerability Index in Jakarta based on the Risk Perception Index, as well as provide social conditions in traditional markets, health facilities, train stations or bus terminals in each subdistrict, and Covid-19 statistics.

The former education and culture minister said the city administration would prioritize the principles of transparency, collaboration, and openness to new things related to the Covid-19 mitigation.

“Because this is a new type of pandemic in history that we all just experience it this time,” he said.

Anies Baswedan believed that the participation of the people and all parties is necessary to combat this Covid-19 pandemic. For example, by complying with the health protocols including wearing face masks in public spaces, washing hands with soap, and maintaining social and physical distancing, as well as observing pandemic data.
