Jakarta Logs More Than 1,000 New COVID-19 Cases Again

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The national COVID-19 mitigation task force reported 2,743 new confirmed cases on Monday, August 31, 2020. The figure pushed the total tally to 174,796 cases.

Based on the data published by the Health Ministry as of 12:00 p.m. Indonesian Western Time (WIB), Jakarta contributed the highest number with 1,049 new infections. The capital city’s number of recovery also increased by 4040, while 14 more patients died.

The second-highest hike in new cases recorded by East Java. The province today has 323 additional confirmed cases, 383 recoveries, and 21 fatalities.

Below East Java, Central Java logged 179 new cases. As many as 100 patients made full recoveries, while eight patients died.

In the fourth place, West Java has 145 new cases, 57 recoveries, and eight death cases, followed by Bali with 129 new cases, 79 recoveries, and three death cases.

On Sunday, August 30, Jakarta recorded the highest surge in new COVID-19 cases at 1,114. This figure was said to be the accumulated data from long weekend holidays.
