TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police Chief Gen. Idham Azis issued five orders to all police members as the anticipatory measures following the fire at the Attorney General’s Office (AGO).

The instructions were noted in a telegraph letter No. STR/607/VIII/PAM.3./2020 dated August 24, 2020, and signed by the operational assistance Insp. Gen. Herry Rudolf Nahak.

“In concern of the fire case at AGO main building that occurred on the evening of August 22, to anticipate it from recurring, the police demand five orders,” as quoted from the letter received on Tuesday, August 25.

First, Idham called on all policemen to develop the internal security forces at the police command headquarters, both at the central and regional levels. “Make sure the headquarters are in good condition, free from threats, sabotage, terror, and other criminal acts.”

The electric installation network must also be checked, including AC, computers, and other electronic devices in each headquarters. The police chief also demanded the installation of fire extinguishers in strategic locations.

“Make sure the devices run well.”

Idham Azis further demanded all important documents and data be stored and secured digitally as a backup. He also instructed all officers on duty to carry out regular patrols throughout the buildings.
