TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has named the prosecutor Pinangki Sirna Malasari as a suspect in the Djoko Tjandra case.

“Based on sufficient evidence, we named the prosecutor identified as PSN a suspect in the Djoko case last night,” said the AGO spokesman Hari Setiyono at the AGO office, Wednesday, August 12.

Investigators instantly arrest Pinangki after the naming of the suspect, and so the latter would be detained for the next 20 days.

Prosecutor Pinangki underwent a series of investigations after she was found meeting with the fugitive in Malaysia. Based on the internal investigation result, she was declared guilty for violating the ethics as she went abroad nine times without permission throughout 2019 and met with Djoko, a convict in the Bank Bali corruption case.

The Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin then dismissed Pinangki from her position as the head of monitoring and evaluation sub-unit. The AGO had also searched two locations related to the alleged criminal acts committed by Pinangki and Djoko Tjandra.

“One of them is located on Jalan Sriwijaya, and the other in Tebet,” said the AGO’s junior attorney for special crimes (Jampidsus) director, Febrile Adriansyah, to Tempo on August 11.
