Karawang Records 5 New COVID-19 Cases

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Covid-19 Task Force of Regency, West Java, said that five more people in Karawang regency have tested positive for the new coronavirus. This brings the regency's total number of active cases to 39.

The local Covid-19 Task Force spokesman, Fitra Hergyana, said on Thursday, August 6, that the three new patients come from Klari, Purwasari, and Kota Baru sub-districts, while two others are from Cikampek.

Fitra said the patients are now hospitalized and isolated. Their family members had been traced for further examination.

To date, Karawang has recorded 111 confirmed cases. Seventy-one have recovered, 39 still in treatment, and one passed away.

FItra reminded Karawang residents to remain vigilant and obey health protocols. He urged people to always wear masks when leaving their homes, avoid crowds, physical distancing, and implement a healthy, clean lifedata-style.
