TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin ordered the cabinet ministers to update the Integrated Data of Social Welfare (DTKS) by conducting nationwide verification.

“This field verification should be carried out using a methodology as applied by BPS (Central Statistics Agency) in 2015,” said Ma'ruf while leading a meeting on the consolidation of poverty data at his office, Jakarta, Thursday, June 25.

Cabinet ministers presented in the session were Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, Social Affairs Minister Juliari Batubara, National Development Planning Minister or Bappenas Head Suharso Manoarfa, BPS Head Suhariyanto, and Deputy for the Coordination of Poverty Reduction and Social Protection Tubagus Achmad Choesni.

According to Ma'ruf, the verification requires initial data or pre-list which could be derived from the DTKS and data from various regions. Establishing an independent registration system is also necessary to complete major updates at the national level. “That also acts as a tool for dynamic or real-time updates.”

With this mechanism, the VP continued, people who feel like they need social assistance could register themselves directly or via the application.

Ma'ruf Amin also requested the establishment of a supervisory team that will ensure the management and accuracy of the DTKS policy before it is approved by the social minister.
