TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A pollster Arus Survei Indonesia (ASI) published its survey result that 67.4 percent of Indonesians were satisfied with the performance of the government of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.
Meanwhile, only 25.3 percent of respondents expressed dissatisfaction, while the rest 7.3 percent did not answer.
According to ASI Executive Director Ali Rif'an, the 67.4 percent data was relatively good compared to the previous period in 2015, which did not hit 60 percent.
“The government's approval rating is still good. This is such a breath of fresh air,” said Ali in an online discussion on the public perception of the performance of the Jokowi-Ma'ruf administration today, June 25.
The survey was conducted on 1,000 respondents throughout June 9-12, 2020, using a multistage random sampling method via phone calls. Its margin of error was about 3.1 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
Ali explained that the high level of public satisfaction emerged since the survey was held during a transition period to a new normal era amid the Covid-19 pandemic. “It means the public is optimistic. The inflation is also relatively stable, the threat of recession is still far away,” Ali said.
