TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - AirAsia Indonesia has officially announced it will resume itsscheduled flights in the archipelago today, June 19. AirAsia Indonesia CEO Veranita Yosephine Sinaga said the airline would serve the domestic routes of Jakarta-Denpasar and Jakarta-Medan, as well as the international routes of Surabaya-Kuala Lumpur and Medan Kuala Lumpur, using its Airbus A320 fleet.

“We are now focusing on recovering our entire route gradually while at the same time monitoring the current situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the travel interest during the new normal period,” said Veranita on Friday, June 19.

She elaborated that reoperation of the scheduled flights marked the return of the airline’s services on the aforementioned routes, which would be followed by a gradual increase in the flight frequency and other routes.

According to Veranita, all of the airline's staff had been working round the clock to once again meet customers' flight needs by offering affordable flights and implementing safety and health protocols.

“We hope our services will be in favor of the people's interest so that we can contribute more to recovering the nation’s economy,” she said.

Would-be passengers can book flight tickets online through airasia.com and the airline’s mobile app. AirAsia Indonesia also offers a free baggage allowance of up to 15 kg for domestic flights.
