TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Police are encouraging residents with no skills or working experience to restrain themselves from coming to the capital.

"People with no special skills does not have any skills are expected not to come to Jakarta. Why? Because we are in Covid-19 pandemic condition and PSBB [Large-Scale Social Restriction] extension," said Chief of Public Relations Division of the National Police Headquarter Insp. Gen. Argo Yuwono in an online press conference on Saturday, May 23, 2020.

Therefore, the Police, according to Argo, has prepared a number of scenarios to stop counter-flow to Jakarta. Argo explained that the East Java Regional Police has applied a blockade on a toll lane along the Sragen-Ngawi section. Furthermore, there have been 7 (seven) inter-provincial thoroughfares, and other blockades along inter-city and inter-regency lanes.

"At the northern coast there are eight checkpoints, the central lane nine checkpoints, southern coast six lanes," Argo said. Meanwhile, the Central Java Regional Police have applied two checkpoints at the Sragen toll road exit, and Banyumanik toll gate at kilometer 421.

Furthermore, Argo also said there are checkpoints along thoroughfares in Sukabumi, Cirebon, Kuningan, Banjar, and Ciamis.

Argo also encouraged people to comply with government programs. "Don't become a victim," Argo said.
