TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned commuter line operator PT KCI on Thursday announced it will impose limited operational hours across its KRL train fleets during the Eid al-Fitr holiday on May 24-25. It will only serve people working in business sectors excluded by the COVID-19 large-scale social restriction (PSBB).

PT KCI spokesperson Anne Purba explains that KRL trips will only be available from 05:00 - 08:00 Western Indonesia Times (WIB) for the morning trips and 16:00 - 18:00 WIB for afternoon trips.

“[Commuter line stations] will be closed outside of the mentioned operational hours,” Anne wrote in a press release on Thursday, May 21.

The transportation company will also continue to abide by COVID-19 health protocols that require passengers to wear face masks as compulsory, maintain physical distance, and screening body temperatures in multiple checkpoints within the train stations.

KCI commuter lines will resume its initial PSBB schedule on Tuesday, May 26, with a full operational hour from 05:00 - 18:00 WIB.
