Flood Still Lurking amid COVID-19 Pandemic in Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Flood was still lurking for Jakarta amid the coronavirus disease or COVID-19 pandemic. As of Wednesday, April 29, at least 13 community units were inundated by water with a height of 10 centimeters to 70 centimeters.

The city’s Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) confirmed that the disaster was based on reports in the field as of Wednesday at 9 p.m.

“This is caused by high rainfall in several areas of the capital,” said the city’s head of Data and Information Agency (Kapusdatin), M. Insaf, in Jakarta.

However, he was informed that no resident was evacuated and no roads were flooded thus far.

The 13 community units (RW) inundated include two RW in Bangka, one RW in Kebon Baru, one RW in West Tebet, one RW in Duren Tiga, one RW in Kalibata, two RW in Jati Padang, and one RW in East Pejaten of South Jakarta.
