TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil called for Jakarta satellite cities that comprise Bekasi, Depok, Bogor City and Regency to follow the capital city in terms of enforcing a ‘coronavirus emergency plan’ that greatly reduces outdoor activities.
”This could help prevent the spread [of coronavirus] and reduce it,” said governor Ridwan Kamil in his visit to Bogor City on Sunday, March 22.
He noted that West Java has seen at least 55 positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and 41 cases in Bekasi and Bogor which he deems justified to implement a policy that greatly reduces unnecessary social activities outdoors.
Bogor Deputy Mayor Dedie Rachim added that the four regions are dependent on each other and claim that a unified policy will help scale back the mobility and traffic of its people. Dedie also said that Bogor City will limit activities from Monday which will take form in limiting activities in the private sector, which includes office activities.
”We will surely implement [the work from home] policy which goes with the government’s call to minimize any form of risk,” said Dedie who also announced that a formal government issuance is being formed.
However, Dedie said that the work from home policy is yet to oversee staple goods traders, F&B industry, and medicines. ”We will be even more critical if we do not take drastic measures,” said the deputy, reflecting On the capital city’s coronavirus emergency.
