TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Task Force for the COVID-19 Mitigation launched a page www.covid19.go.id as the official source of information on tackling the coronavirus which is now a global pandemic.

"We realize that people need access to accurate, fast, and reliable information. That is why the www.covid19.go.id site was created so that it could become a one-stop official source of the virus information," said Head of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), Doni Monardo, at BNPB Graha on Wednesday, March 18.

The website was developed by the team's Risk and Public Engagement Communications which consists of various elements including the government, the United Nations Agency (UNICEF, WHO), international development partners, civil society organizations, and business parties.

According to Doni, this site also campaigned for public unity to work together combating the virus.

The website displayed 3 important steps that the community must do, viz. ways to reduce the transmission risk, find the right information, and steps to do if you get sick. Statistical data on the number of positive cases of the coronavirus infection are also updated in real-time through the site that are expected to be a reference for various parties, especially the media partners for their reports.

A Hoax Buster is also available on the website to be used as a reference to determine whether an information about COVID-19 is fact or a hoax. Besides, it is equipped with educational material in light of the virus.

"We are committed to providing accurate and responsible information to the public. True information and right actions are fundamental elements to fight the spread of this disease," Doni underlined.
