He said, according to the temporary data, there had been 60 cases of dengue fever in Bogor City in the first quarter of 2020, they were treated in several Bogor City hospitals, from 60 cases, 2 patients died.
"If we compared it with the previous year, the number decreased because in the first quarter of 2019 there were 170 cases of patients treated and 5 people died," said Dede.
According to him, there are currently 108 dengue fever patients being treated at Bogor City Hospital.
"Of all the 108 patients, 62 patients are residents of Bogor City, and 46 patients are from Bogor Regency," said Dede.
Meanwhile, Sempur village chief Marissa, confirmed that the two victims killed by the dengue fever were Sempur residents, she said both of them are six-year old and nine-year old children.
"One of the victims died of dengue fever named Alisha Khaira Farshad, 6 years old, a resident of Jalan Jalak Harupat Lebak Kantin RT 01/6, Sempur Urban Village," she said.
She also explained that based on regular checking there was no endemic dengue fever outbreak in the village where the victim lived. They predicted that the victim was bit by a mosquito outside the neighborhood. "Since January we have been anticipating [dengue fever]. From the results in the field, we even found a lot of mosquito larvae inside the dispensers of several residents' homes," she said.
