Bali to Open Up Coronavirus Command Post

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bali provincial government was set to establish a command post as a center for monitoring, preventing, and controlling the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus in the region. This step was taken following two Indonesians reportedly tested positive for the virus.
“[The command post] will be centralized, we will also set a special hospital,” said Bali Deputy Governor, Tjokorda Arta Ardana Sukawati or familiarly called Cok Ace, on Monday, March 2.
Earlier, Jakarta administration issued a Gubernatorial Instruction No. 16/2020 on the raising awareness of the risk of the virus spreading.
Cok Ace said his administration will take into account the environmental impact and wind direction to set up the position of the special hospital. “This will be an alternative that we will discuss shortly,” he added.
The provincial government, he went on, was still registering hospitals that have isolation rooms to handle the COVID-19 case. “Both private and state hospitals in each district,” he said.
Cok Ace opined that the impact of the coronavirus on the Bali economy could be more severe than that of Mount Agung eruption. At that time, the regional economy declined by 3.9 percent.
