TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Health Agency said ten people suspected of having contracted the Covid-19 coronavirus are still being treated and under observation in three Jakarta hospitals.
The agency head Widyastuti said the initial number of the suspected cases was 32. “The rest [22 people] had been discharged,” said Widyastuti at the City Hall, Jakarta, Monday, March 2.
Those patients are being isolated in three coronavirus referral hospitals, namely RSPI Sulianti Suroso, RSPAD Gatot Subroto, and RS Persahabatan. “Most of them are at RS Suroso.”
Apart from the ten patients, some 115 people are put under frequent monitoring by the medical team from near their domicile and not isolated in the hospital.
Widyastuti explained that the number of those being monitored and isolated was obtained from Jan. 1 until Feb. 28. “The data are based on reports from health facilities. All of them tested negative.”
She elaborated that the monitoring and supervision system adopted by Jakarta complied with the standard operating procedure from the Health Ministry. “As the subordinate, of course, we comply with the SOP. We have also set a hotline number,” said the head of Jakarta Health Agency.
The observation on those patients for the COVID-19 was carried out since they developed symptoms of flu and fever. “But they tested negative,” Widyastuti concluded.
