TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State train operator PT KAI said the company will fully refund tickets of long-distance trains to passengers whose trips were affected by delays, due to the Jakarta flood this morning. A number of tracks and railway facilities are inundated by flood, including the Jatinegara Locomotive Depo, preventing trains from operating normally.

"We welcome passengers whose trips were delayed by more than 60 minutes to apply for 100 percent refunds," KAI's PR for Jakarta Operating Area, Eva Chairunisa, said on February 25.

As another form of apology for the delays and disturbances, PT KAI is also providing food and beverages to passengers stranded at train stations.

A number of long-distance trains departing from Pasar Senen Station and Gambir Station were delayed. The longest delay of more than three hours was experienced by passengers of the PLB 260A North Kutojaya train bound for Kutoarjo. The train was supposed to have departed at 05:00 this morning, but the flood caused a 190-minute delay and the train only left the station at 08:55.

The KA 306A Bengawan bound for Purwosari was also delayed for more than two hours before it could leave Pasar Senen Station.

Some passengers are still stuck at Pasar Senen Station. Trains that are unable to leave tracks are the KA 144A Gajahwong bound for Lempuyang, the KA 262 Tawangjaya Prem bound for Semarang Tawang, the KA 146A Fajar Utama YK bound for Yogyakarta, the KA 34 Argo Cheribon bound for Cirebon, and the KA 340 Tegal Ekspres bound for Tegal.
