TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Until February 10, 2020, Indonesia has confirmed of not being included in the list of 27 foreign citizens in China who tested positive for Coronavirus or 2019-nCoV. "We have already checked with competent parties," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, Geng Shuang said in a written statement received by Antara on Tuesday morning, February 11, 2020.

The Indonesian Embassy in Beijing stated that in Hubei Province, which was the beginning of the outbreak of the deadly virus, there were seven Indonesian citizens. In some areas other than Hubei Province, there are around 1,800 Indonesian citizens according to the Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun, and none of them has been infected with the Coronavirus. "We always monitor their conditions. Especially the ones in Wuhan, almost every day we do a video call," said Djauhari.

Geng Shuang explained that 27 foreigners were infected, three of whom had left the hospital because they considered cured. While 22 people still in the treatment period. Two foreigners died in Wuhan, one Chinese-American, died on Thursday, February 6, 2020, and another Japan citizen died two days after, on February 8.

According to Geng Shuang, the Chinese government had sent a letter of condolence to the US government and Japan government over the deaths of the two foreigners.

The Chinese government provides routine services using multilingualism and ways to deal with the outbreak to the foreign citizens who still live in the mainland.

Meanwhile, the Chinese National Health Commission (NCH) said that until Tuesday morning the number of deaths due to 2019-nCoV had reached 909 people, a total of 3,551 people were declared cured, but 6,484 people were still in critical condition.

The number of positive cases infected with the coronavirus reached 40,262 people and an estimated status of 23,589 people. During the outbreak, Chinese President Xi Jinping inspected residential areas in the Chaoyang District, Beijing, Monday, February 10, 2020.

To the medical officer, the General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) reminded the importance of improving diagnosis, planning proper care to save patients, and good self-protection in treating patients.

Xi Jinping, who was wearing a mask, also expressed his condolences to the Coronavirus patient who had died and the family who had left behind.
