TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - City-owned transportation firm Transportasi Jakarta assures that its Transjakarta service will run normally during extreme rain predicted to occur until some time to come.

Transjakarta official, Nadia Diposanjoyo, says her company cooperates with the city administration to set routes diversion, considering precipitation and extreme weather in the capital since early this year.

The route diversion, she says, will be executed to make sure that the passengers will be served properly and can cater the public to the nearest location if the flood reoccur. "This will be done in various ways," Nadia says.

In addition, the company has also set its fleed qualified to face the flood; meaning that the maintenance for the buses affected by the New Year flood was completed.

Another anticipative measure is that the company will allocate the buses with a certain level, those that are able to fight the floodwater, to flood-prone locations. Meanwhile at bus stops and depo, it has prepared generator sets and additional shelters.

Officers in charge, onboard personnel, and ticketing attendants are set to face the situation.

"Transjakarta also prepares emergency lights, medicines, as well as information on nearest mitigation locations, call center, medical team, and Transcare for passengers with special needs," Nadia remarked.
