TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has released today’s weather forecast for Jakarta areas, noting rainfall across the capital city.

On the morning of Thursday, January 9, Central Jakarta, East Jakarta, and South Jakarta likely experience a medium intensity of rain, while heavy downpour is expected in West Jakarta and North Jakarta.

As for the Thousand Islands (Kepulauan Seribu), it is predicted to have rain with thunderstorms.

The weather will likely change in the afternoon. South Jakarta and East Jakarta will be showered by heavy rain. But, the rain will tend to ease for North Jakarta and Thousand Islands.

Additionally, the weather service forecasted stormy rain and strong winds in five metropolitan areas. “Beware of potential rain with thunderstorms and strong winds in West Jakarta, South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, East Jakarta, and North Jakarta starting noon to late night,” as quoted from its official page.

BMKG further predicted that three regions, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta, possibly have cloudy weather at nighttime, while a light intensity of rain will still shower Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands.
