TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police have scrapped the odd-even policy during the celebration of Christmas and New Year 2020, considering vehicle volume in the capital is predicted to decrease during the year-end holidays.

“The odd-even traffic system is not valid for today, December 24 and December 25,” said the traffic police law enforcement head Comr. Fahri Siregar in the police headquarters, South Jakarta, Tuesday, December 24.

Fahri explained that his side has disseminated the policy through social media and called on motorists to prioritize safety when driving.

The 25 roads that are usually affected by the traffic system are:

  1. Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat
  2. Jalan MH Thamrin
  3. Jalan Jenderal Sudirman
  4. Jalan Jenderal S Parman, starting from the intersection of Jalan Tomang Raya up to Jalan Gatot Subroto.
  5. Jalan Gatot Subroto
  6. Jalan MT Haryono
  7. Jalan HR Rasuna Said
  8. Jalan DI Panjaitan
  9. Jalan Jenderal Ahmad Yani, from the intersection of Jalan Bekasi Timur Raya to intersection of Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan
  10. Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan
  11. Jalan Gajah Mada
  12. Jalan Hayam Wuruk
  13. Jalan Majapahit
  14. Jalan Sisingamangaraja
  15. Jalan Panglima Polim
  16. Jalan Fatmawati, from the intersection of Jalan Ketimun 1 to intersection of Jalan TB Simatupang
  17. Jalan Suryopranoto
  18. Jalan Balikpapan
  19. Jalan Kyai Caringin
  20. Jalan Tomang Raya

  23. Jalan Kramat Raya
  24. Jalan Stasiun Senen
  25. Jalan Gunung Sahari

Meanwhile, for the new year celebration, the odd-even policy will not be enforced on December 31, 2019, until January 1, 2020. However, several roads including Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jalan MH Thamrin, and Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan will be closed for public events.
