TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Bogor Police traffic department announced it has enforced one-way traffic in Puncak during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Head of the traffic police, Adj. Comm. M. Fadli Amri, says that it has commenced since last weekend.

“We have secured the traffic flow throughout the Puncak route during this year end’s holidays,” said Fadli to Tempo at the Bogor District police headquarters on Sunday, December 22.

He further elaborates that the holidays have officially commenced in the third week of December, coinciding with the national school recess.

Fadli also reports that the traffic density coming in and out of the Ciawi Tollroad Gate leading to the Puncak route has seen a significant traffic increase. Tempo’s field observation on Saturday, December 21, saw the one-way traffic system applied since 07:30 WIB from Jakarta to Puncak, while at 12:30 WIB saw traffic reversed with prioritizing vehicles from Puncak to Jakarta.

The Bogor police traffic department chief said that the one-way traffic in Puncak, and other tentative traffic engineerings, have proved to serve its purpose as at 15:30 WIB the Puncak route was able to be normalized into the normal two-way road.
