TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police have named a total of 46 terror suspects related to the Medan bombing on Wednesday, November 13.

“To date, 46 people have been named suspects during law enforcement efforts by Densus 88 (the police’s anti-terror squad) and the Regional Police," said National Police spokesman Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo at the National Police Headquarters, Monday, November 18.

23 of the suspects were arrested in Sumatra and Aceh. They had direct links to the terrorist group Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD). “The leader is identified as Y,” Dedi added.

According to him, four of the 23 suspects surrendered to the police, while two were shot dead for resisting police arrest with sharp weapons and airsoft guns.

“One Densus 88 member was injured in the hand due to slashes. The two suspects died at the crime scene.”

From the arrest, Densus 88 seized multiple pieces of evidence, including bomb-making materials in the form of fertilizer and black powder allegedly used to assemble low-explosive bombs. “[We found] black powder, fertilizer, and other materials used for bombs. All of these were low-explosive bombs,” Dedi remarked.

Besides North Sumatra and Aceh, 22 other suspects were nabbed in various regions: 4 terror suspects in Banten, 3 in Jakarta, 9 in Central Jakarta, 6 in West Jakarta, and one in East Kalimantan.
