Police Nab Alleged Terrorists in Bali

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bali Regional Police caught two suspected terrorists Achmad Taufikurrahman dan Zaid Ali Ibrahim in Jembrana on Thursday, October 10.

Bali Police Chief of Public Relations, Sr. Comsr. Hengky Widjaja, said that Achmad and Zaid are father and son. "They allegedly belonged to ISIS leader, Abu Bakar Al Baghdadi," he said Saturday, October 12.

Based on the examination, Achmad and Zaid were known to have close ties with Syahril Alamsyah alias Abu Rara, the stabber of Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Wiranto.

This father and son have also set tools to conduct a terror act in the resort island as the police found arrows, airsoft guns, and sangkur knife during the catch.

The two had even set a plan when they arrested at anytime. "They planned to resist and throw their laptop and cell phones in the water," Hengky said.

Achmad and Zaid were ones of 24 suspected terrorists nabbed by the police since September until today, October 12.
