TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Asep Adi Saputra has announced that a policewoman Second Brigadier (Bripda) Nesti Ode Samili, 23 years old, was allegedly involved in a terrorist group Jamaah Ansharut Daulah or JAD.

Based on the investigation run by Police’s anti-terrorism squad Densus 88, Nesti was suspected of having a significant role in the group. “She is extremely exposed to [terrorism],” said Adi.

Adi added that Nesti was also suspected to have ties with Abuzi, a JAD member who was arrested in Bekasi, West Java.

The police officer was reportedly learned about radicalism by herself through social media.

Up to today, she is still listed as a member of the National Police. However, she is threatened to be dismissed due to her acts.

The policewoman from North Maluku Police has two-time run into Densus 88; in May 2019, East Java Police nabbed her in Juanda Airport, East Java, and in September’s end 2019, Densus 88 investigators secured her in Yogyakarta.
