TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An autopsy carried out by Abunawas Hospital forensic team revealed that Randi, a student of Halu Oleo University, died of a gunshot wound in his right upper chest during the protest at Southeast Sulawesi Legislative Council (DPRD) building on Thursday afternoon, September 26.

The 22-year-old man took his last breath in the hospital minutes after he was found collapsed at the demonstration site.

Forensic team head Raja Al Fatih Widya Iswara confirmed the student was shot with a live round going through from under his left armpit to his right upper chest.

“The bullet struck his left armpit and passed to his right and left lung, blood vessels, and mediastinal parts, which is an organ between the right and left lung cavities," said Raja Al Fatih today, September 27, at Abunawas Hospital.

According to Raja, albeit no projectile was found, the autopsy showed a bullet projectile hole under the victim's armpit was at 0.9 centimeter in diameter, while in his right chest at 2.1 centimeters in diameter.

The autopsy began at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday and ended on early Friday, September 27, around 02.30 a.m. After the body examination, Randy’s body was immediately brought to his hometown in Lakarinta Village, Lohia District, Muna Regency.

Southeast Sulawesi Police Chief Brig. Gen. Iriyanto confirmed today Randi was shot to death with a live bulet but was still unsure whether the bullet belonged to police personnel as no projectile was found in the victim's body.
