TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The communication and information ministry will summon Lion Air on Thursday, September 19, following the passengers' data leak recently admitted by Malindo Air.

"We'll summon Lion Air management at 5 p.m.," the ministry's acting head of public communication bureau Ferdinandus Setu told Tempo today, September 19.

Ferdinandus said an echelon I official will meet the management of the airliner. Previously, dozens of millions of customers' data managed by Lion Air Group allegedly leaked.

The data include ID card, passport, and phone number, saved in the backup file of Malindo and Thai Lion database.

Vice President Corporate Communication Lion Air, Danang Mandala, said Malindo Air passengers' data that are saved in cloud file were allegedly abused by irresponsible parties.

"Malindo Air internal team together with external data service provider Amazon Web Services (AWS) and e-commerce partner GoQuo are currently investigating the matter," Danang said in a written statement.

Malindo Air, as part of Lion Air Group, is partnering with an independent cybercrime consultant to report the incident, which in Malaysia is entering the investigation prosses.
