Police Submit Files of May 22 Suspects to Prosecutor's Office

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Police have submitted the case files of the 334 suspects of the May 22 riot to the Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office.

“Today, we have sent the files of the suspects of the May riot to the prosecutor’s office,” said Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono at his office, Friday, July 19.

Argo said there were 106 case files from the police. In addition to the files, the police also submitted several pieces of evidence. “The proofs are, among others, stones, bamboo sticks, to arrows,” he added.

On Thursday, July 18, the West Jakarta Resort Police also lodged the case files of the May 22 riot. A total of 75 suspects were sent along with the evidence.

Previously, the police arrested 447 suspects in the May 22 riot. They were nabbed in several locations, viz. the Bawaslu office area, Tanah Abang, and Slipi Petamburan.
