TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Leader of the National Movement to Safeguard the Ulema Fatwa (GNPF) Yusuf Martak, acknowledged that the organization is not able to comment on Sunday’s meeting between two political rivals; Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Prabowo Subianto.

“The meeting that took place is just an ordinary event and doesn’t need to be worried about,” said Yusuf in a press conference on Monday, July 15.

According to him, the GNPF’s approach, as-well-as other mass organizations will be determined after the completion of the fourth Ijtima Ulema. “We are always on the move, we act and conduct things based on the mandate of the ulemas and Habib, as we had done before.”

Meanwhile, the 212 alumni group (PA 212) chairman Slamet Ma'arif said that the organization is not affected by Jokowi and Prabowo’s meeting.

“On yesterday’s meeting, we are neither pleased or unhappy,” said Slamet who maintained that the 212 group will continue with its endeavor and allows anyone that does not share the same views to step off the bandwagon.
